The head of a large company was searching for a successor. He assembled all the likely candidates from his organisation, calling them in from all over the world to meet him in a special place. There he showed them a wall and told them it contained the largest and heaviest door in the whole world. Whoever could open it on his own would be named as successor. Some candidates stared in horror at the door and immediately returned to their seats defeated. Others examined the door, pulled out paper pens and calculators, and scribbled away for a while. Then they returned to their seats defeated. One man examined the door closely, measuring its height and width, running his hands over its surface, tracing the near-invisible cracks where the door fitted snugly into the wall. Finally, taking a deep breath, he pushed lightly and the door swung open.

High Performimg Management

Good managers are the drivers of organisational success, and the demands placed on them are huge. They need to be able to lead, be clear on outcomes and how to deliver results, inspire their staff and delegate to them, and build relationships to carry achievements forward.

Managers also need the confidence to know what information they need, to move away from the herd, and to trust their own well thought through judgement. They need to be able to handle personal and professional setbacks and cope with the stresses of their position.

This development programme combines the principles of good management with key personal and practical skills to give your managers the edge and your business faster and more effective results.
